Making Gulash

I finally finished a piece that's been on my desk for quite sometime.

Back at 2010 I spent two months in Hungary on a working period.

Of course I had to try gulash. I have many photos, one which this painting is based on.

So it's called "Making gulash".

Did I mention that after the first trip I've visited there twice again.
Beautiful country with great people (and good food).

Love and light

Joy to the world

"Sorella" and "fires at midnight"

This time inspiration avenue challenge is "Joy to the world". Challenge is to pick favorite artworks from the year 2013.

I fell in love with artjournaling this year so I decided to add my artjournal images here.

"Autumne"

"Day of the death"

It's been very emotional year. I had very difficult time at school in the spring. I was on a "sickness Holiday" trough all summer and I lost my dear cat Pumpuli in the autumn. If Karma kicks ass I believe my 2014 is going to magnificent.

It's not all  bad 2013. I made some new friends, travelled a lot (did my first interrail trip), found many cool new blogs :) and happily took part on a business course this fall and hope to start my own Company in spring. It's a big decicion.

I hope everyone had great Holiday time. I got so many new things:)

Love and light to everyone

Weather has been crazy few times it's been raining so much I've been shore that all the snow will melts away before the holidays but that hasn't happened (yei!)

At the end of November I went to the nearest city to see Kekri celebration. Kekri is an old finish harvest festival. It was spent at the beginning of November and used to be biggest celebration of the year in the calender of ancient finns. These days christmas has taken that Place but some places people are starting the Kekri traditions again.

Kekri was a festival of good food and dance and then people also burned a Kekri ram.

Here is the ram they had in the city. I tought it was quite handsome:)

And here it burns. Kekri was also considered as the beginning of a new yer so burning the ram symbolizes lot's of new beginnings.

I hope everyone has great wintertime with  family and loved ones

Thank you for coming and come back often

Painting Mountains

This is funny. First I started to upload something else but then I changed my mind.
Above you can see some imaginary mountains I painted at art class when I was 17.

These mountains I painted this September on my journey in Croatia. I think they are magnificent and these aren't imaginary. I had very solid models.

One of my favorite artjournalist Jenniebellie did an interview of me to her famous "tell it all tuesdays".
It was so much fun! you can read it here:

Thank you Jenny!

I submit my mountain artworks to paint party friday

Today Finland is celebrating it's 96th independence day. So I share my favorite "Finland" song with you.

Inspiration avenue: Mandalas

Inspiration avenue theme this week are "Mandalas".

I've done mandalas for a year now and they are very good artworks for doodling, meditation and creating new patterns.

These two I drew this week with felt tipped pencils. Both can be found on my sketchbook.

Today's christmas picture is my painting called "Nutcracker ballerina". I think painted this one on 2008 with watercolors. I love to watch balet on christmas. It always brings me Holiday spirit.
